young people with severe learning disabilities.

About Us

The Elsie Normington Foundation has developed a specialist multi-purpose facility in Inverness called the Haven Centre for children and young people up to the age of 30 with multiple and severe learning disabilities.

The centre provides support to people across the Highlands and is the first fully integrated facility of its kind in Scotland.

The Haven Appeal

The Elsie Normington Foundation has built a specialist play centre, respite wing and a community coffee shop for children and young adults with learning disabilities in Inverness. To help with the ongoing operations and projects at the Haven Centre we need your support

Young people need relevant facilities and services while parents need to be supported appropriately in their caring role. There are 1679 children with additional needs in school and 722 children who are registered disabled in Highland.
